The Bars

Welcome to Fubar, Xinjiang's only Western-owned Bar & Cafe

Fubar is Xinjiang's only Western owned and managed bar/café. We focus on offering our customers something special, including a wide range of imported beers and spirits, a huge music catalogue, and the best pizza in Central Asia! Fubar is also the place to come if you’re looking for travel information.

Enjoy All the Pub Classics

Fubar delivers all the pub classics you’d expect, including fish and chips, meat pies, sandwiches, pizzas and pastas. If you still have space, indulge your sweet tooth with treats like home-made apple pie and cheesecake. Our chefs are always coming up with new ideas, so be sure to check the specials board!

Refresh Yourself with Our Imported Beer Selection

We are justifiably proud of our imported beer selection. Supplying quality brews to discerning drinkers floating through the middle of nowhere is no easy task. While the East coast of China has a plethora of bars stocked with premium imported beers, our remote location forces us to truck supplies from Beijing and Shanghai. Timing is important here. We once made the mistake of shipping a consignment of VB in the depths of winter. Only the morning after the delivery did we realize that the quiet hissing from the storeroom was our precious beer defrosting. In any case, leave the logistical travails to us and get on with enjoying our offerings from Belgium, Germany, Ireland, the UK, Czechoslovakia and Australia.

Warm-up with a Whiskey, or Chill-out with a Cocktail. . .

Spirits are a great antidote to the harsh northern winters and we have gathered an impressive collection. Highlights include single malts from across Scotland, a small but potent range of French and Czech absinthe, and an extensive vodka list. Vodka is particularly popular in these parts, with favorites including the award-winning Snow Queen from neighboring Kazakhstan, and Zubrowka from Poland.

Those requiring a higher standard of service than a bottle slung in their general direction will be relieved to know that we can also mix a great cocktail. Feel free to request any of the classics. Maybe Xinjiang has left you craving the civilizing influence of a Martini? Perhaps you want to dive out of the desert and into a Pina Colada? Adventurous imbibers can consider trying the signature Fubar Stinger. Be warned that this last suggestion is strictly for the brave or foolish.

Explore the Local Wine

The locals of Xinjiang have been producing grapes for more than 2000 years, and while the majority of Xinjiang wine is not up to much, a few stand out. We have a range of Xinjiang’s best reds, from Les Champs D’or, Silk Road Chateau, and Suntime. We also offer a tasty local ice wine. This is complimented by a selection from the award winning Grace Vineyards of Shanxi, and imported wines from both the Old and New worlds.

Pick up Some Local Knowledge

At Fubar we know Xinjiang better than most, and a friendly face is usually on hand to provide travel information and other assistance. From finding reliable guides to handling medical emergencies, we have helped visitors with most problems. Whether you want to go camel trekking in the Taklamakan, hike mountain valleys where wolves still roam, or buy a yak head for the mantelpiece, we can probably point you in the right direction. Drop past and surprise us. . .
